This is an awesome book. For two main reasons.
1) A majority of the races listed in here getting favoured bonuses are 3rd party. These most definitely will not be seen in Paizo's race book coming out next month. I can pretty much guarantee this.
2) It introduced me to the grindylow, or aquatic tentacled goblins. Those bastards really are everywhere. A rogue or cleric version of these things would be incredibly deadly. Admittedly I had to laugh at the PD comment about how their next npc would be a cavalier on a mawgriff when there's actually real benefit favored wise in the book. Could always multi-class, I suppose.

There are one or two other races that I would have liked to have seen in there, but they're not 3rd party, and will most likely be in Paizo's next month. But this book is definitely a must for those who do third party races just to be different, and don't want to be stuck with just the standard +1 hp or +1 skill rank.

I got a newsletter today discussing this book from you guys, but before I pick it up I wanted to ask a few questions about it.

1) Is meant as a way to flesh out a character's background better, or give them people who can perform certain functions for them (sell potions, upgrade weapons and armor, etc), or are these meant to be people who backstab them or betray them and end up becoming a campaign's villain?
2) Define "NPCs players won't forget".
3) Are they potential damsels in distress?

I was going through some of the OGL monsters that are on the site, and one of them really caught my eye. The vessel of orcus.
However, I've noticed a theme with some of the monsters. There's no source listed. It just says a 3PP is responsible for them. I've got a couple of the books to help figure out where some of the others came from, but where'd this one originate? My Google-Fu was weak, but it showed an artist's interpretation of it on deviantart, and it was rather stomach churning.

So the pdf just came out (got the e-mail), and I have to say that I was relatively happy with it. Thought I might see another race, hoping for one, but I know I shouldn't expect that with every release. The shimmer dragon was my favourite of the group. The eyestock monster was a close second.

Already pumped for the next release. :)

Just wondering when we can expect a Monstrous Races 3? Namely something to make the Oread a little better. The Elemental Affinity is nice and all, but not everyone is going to make them go up as a sorcerer or cleric. They're built like fighters, and if you look at their picture, they look like archers. That's a lot of potential going to waste.

Was going through the 7th level encounter, Danger at the Docks, which is also on the website, and I want to add in the cleric for complication purposes, but what's his alignment? More importantly, what's the sea god's alignment? Is there a place I can read up more on Waleriun?

Armor. We've got various items, weapons, and shields, but no armor? There should be really archetyped ones too. Like the stealthy rogue blend into the shadows armor, and the "I am good. Can you tell I'm good?" beaming white light plate armor for paladins, and armor of invincibility for the tanks. I think that'd be fun to do up and read over.

Will you make an adventure for the Red King?

Reading through your Legendary II book, I really liked the legend of the Red King, and honestly want to know if you'll design an adventure for it. A one-shot designed around the adventure that took him down. If not, what about designing him? I'm really interested in the Red King, and am actually doing my own take on him. For him to take down a red dragon, I'm thinking a high level fighter/barbarian, but with that need to successfully use a will save, he either has a high wisdom (doubtful), or maybe he's a fighter/anti-paladin, which is what I was starting to build.

What do you think? Am I close? The reasoning behind this was the need for a Fort save of +5 by level 4. That means two classes that have a strong fortitude save at level 1. That gives you barbarian, fighter, anti-paladin, cleric, ranger, druid, monk, cavalier, gunslinger, inquisitor, and magus. And those are just the licensed ones from Paizo. There's still all of those 3rd party published ones like you guys, and there's definitely a half-ogre base race in the 3rd party Tome of Secrets by Adamant Entertainment.

Barbarian was my first thought, but they're only able to wear medium armor. Not that a level of fighter wouldn't take care of that, but they'd still lose an ability here and there for wearing the heavy armor of dragonplate. So, anti-paladin was the next idea. Especially given his wanton of chaos, and needing to be a little charismatic for his Leadership feat. The strong Will progression would help the Fiery Discorporation ability come off every once and a while. Inquisitors get more skill points, and actually have Knowledge (arcana) as class skill, but I don't know that that'd be all that important.

Any chance you guys could give me a leg up on how to design this guy for my party to take on?

From Legendary III
Quote: "Hunter’s Sight (Su): Toolik’s Eagle Eyes imbue the wearer with a raptor’s eyesight. This not only means keen vision, but the acute stare of the hunter. The range increment for ranged weapons doubles for the wearer of Toolik’s Eagle Eyes."

I can't seem to find it anywhere, but could you define "keen vision" and "the acute stare of the hunter"? Looking over the aspect spells, I'm guessing +3 Perception (not competence because that's what the eagle eyes give) and Intimidate? Maybe insight bonus? Or is it that you gain the range increment bonus?

So I just bought this supplement, and it talks about the darba and how they can use four fleshtearers without penalty. That's scary, but cool. That's also fine. However, what's failed to be mentioned in there is what it costs to buy one of those. If a PC group beats one, and wants to sell the item, I've got no price for them. All I know is that it's a curved blade. Is it a kukri? Is it something completely different? What are its stats? Where can I find information on this item?

What I'd love to see is more Legendary items/weapons/armors, as well as how to make them. We got the basics thanks the three pdfs that are already out, but what I'd love to see is a set of armors that you can get, and how to make your own individual items. Maybe I'd like a hammer that only has abilities, and no spells 3/day on it. Or maybe, instead of a 4th level spell like the Phoenix Axe's Wall of Fire, I want another 3rd level spell like Fly, but 5/day. Or perhaps a set of armor that can fly for me as well.

Being able to see a formula, and make your own custom items, would be really awesome to see. To add to it, maybe you don't want what an item has, and want to switch it out for something else. Seeing a table to know what you could switch it out for would be great too. Maybe instead of Wall of Flame, you'd like to make it a +4 axe. Can you do that in exchange for that spell 3/day? Don't know without the proper materials. How about transformation? We know that an optional rule is that you can have the weapon become jealous and give you penalties if you use something else, but you're going to want to use something that does bludgeoning against something strong against slashing. Maybe an ability that allows you to transform your hammer into a handaxe into a short bow? You wouldn't have a need to switch out weapons if that first weapon could do everything.

Finally, I don't see it on the weapon pdfs (correct me if I'm wrong) where it says whether or not you pay additionally for a weapon to be upgraded. For instance, at 20th level, you have a +4 weapon (eg +3 flaming greataxe). What if I want to make that a +5 flaming burst greataxe? How much does that cost me? If I get it done early, and it's a +3 keen flaming burst greataxe at only level 10, does it become a +5 greataxe when I hit level 20?

It'd be like a Pathfinder version of the D&D Weapons of Legacy book, which I know a number of people enjoyed. The nice thing about this version, however, is there doesn't seem to be any sort of penalties, other than maybe a weapon becoming jealous if you use another weapon.
